P.A.L Treasurer, Stephanie Fraser:
The young, caramel colored Cocker Spaniel sat in the rain, on a busy street corner in El Paso Texas.
He was just another one of the thousand or so dogs that are thrown away every day. But he was about
to get lucky. He was about to end up in the arms of ten year old Stephanie Benore (now Fraser)
Aptly named Shadow, his devotion to Stephanie probably had as much of an affect on her young life,
as she did on his that rainy day in El Paso. Steph went to work at the age of twelve bathing dogs for her
mother, a dog groomer. She did a little hobby training on the side and Shadow even did a few spots on
local TV news show as Shadow the Punk Rocker Cocker.

Her next gig in the dog world at the age of 17 was delivering guard dogs for a local guard dog company.
Originally hired at the insistence of her mother the other guard dog trainers were taking bets on how
many hours before she got scared and quit. Uh, that would be 18 months later when she moved to
Ft. Worth Texas.

In north Texas a young woman now out on her own she went to work for the Frito Lay company.
It had to be much less nerve wracking delivering corn chips, instead of Rottweilers, but Steph couldn’t
break that old habit of picking ups strays on street corners.  It was a lucky dog that was dumped or
abandoned near a convenience or grocery store that was serviced by the Frito Lay truck driven by
Stephanie. The Texas sun streaming through the windshield, all the corn chips you could munch, if the
bag was torn of course, and at the end a home like Gladys, the Bassett Hound got. Or the lucky one
Socks the American Pit Bull terrier found on a busy street and five years ago and still living with Stephanie
and her husband Ed.  Stephnie was responsible for the accounts of all the stores on her route and
brings those skills to her position of P.A.L. Treasurer. Her dog skills and devotion are obvious. And
she is here to work for you and change the way all dogs are treated in this country.

Oh and I almost forgot Stephanie is also the mother of Layla, who at the tender age of two is
following in her mothers footsteps. Layla has already trained Socks the Pit Bull, Sugar the American Bulldog
and Sugars the English Bulldog, to sit, stay, and not let one dropped morsel hit the floor
from the high chair. Good Dog!
